Ephrata Area Young Farmers 

It was a full summer of activities for Ephrata Area Young Farmers, with opportunities for both socializing and education. 

In June, 60 members and friends turned out for a vegetable production update and tour conducted by Clark Stauffer and Ryan Martin from Indian Run Farm. In August, members visited Luke Brubaker’s Mount Joy dairy farm and learned more about their production of electricity. They also visited Rocky Acre Farm Inn, run by the Benner family, and visited Wilton Armetale and George’s Woodcraft.  

An ice cream social at Oak Shade Pavilion also brought out many families for an evening of fellowship. 

Many members participated in Penn State’s vegetable growers field day at the Landisville Research Farm and in Ag Progress Days at Rock Springs in Center County.
