Goals of Adult
Education in Agriculture
|
The adult education in agriculture program provides individual and group
organized instruction to agriculturists and consumer
public in the local community. Specifically, the program
is designed to assist those in production, agriculture,
and agribusiness to become successfully established or
to improve their current agricultural status. Also, an
educational focus is to improve understanding and
communication between the consumer public and
the agricultural community regarding common concerns and
issues.
|
Objectives
|
- To make available the support from technical
and management services to production and
agribusiness personnel that will maximize
economic efficiency of available resources and
insure a safe environmentally sound operation.
- To provide individual and group instruction
in the "classroom" or on site setting that
will aid the participants in making appropriate
decisions
- To educate the consumer public in the areas
of agriculture that affect the health and safety
and to minimize the conflict of interests and
concerns.
- To communicate with local chapters and
individuals in response to their need.
- To provide leadership training opportunities
for PYFA members at both the state and local
levels.
- To engage in a close relationship with
agricultural organizations and other business
and service industries to enhance learning and
cooperation.
- To provide those in production and
agribusiness careers the necessary support for
sound business organization, record keeping,
farm laws, and estate planning.
- To provide wholesome educational, social,
and recreational activities for members and
families.

share knowledge and experiences that would be of
value to other PYFA chapter members.
